The voting to determine the top New Orleans attorneys was open to all licensed attorneys in the city. They were asked which attorneys they would recommend in the Greater New Orleans area. Each attorney was allowed to recommend up to three colleagues in each given practice area (there were over 50 areas). Once the online nominations were completed, each nominee was carefully evaluated on the basis of the survey results, the legitimacy of their license, and their current standing with the Louisiana State Bar Association. Attorneys who received the highest number of votes in each area were named to the Top Lawyers list.
