Careers

Ever since the founding of our firm, we’ve sought out lawyers who share our belief that a career in the legal profession can and should be a challenging, yet pleasant, way to make a living.  We pride ourselves on our ability to consistently provide top quality legal services within the unbending bounds of professionalism and ethics expected of our profession.  Right from the start, we orient new associates and lateral members to the professional and personal conduct that we expect from them and provide training and support to make sure they understand how we practice law and how we want them to meet client expectations.  We evaluate lawyers not simply on how much they bill, but on the quality of their work.  Through training and development programs, mentor relationships, appropriate supervision and reciprocal feedback, we help new lawyers become efficient, contributing members of our firm.

Our firm is committed to our 1L diversity summer clerkship program that provides law students with first-hand exposure to the private practice of law.  During the four-week program, our clerks work on challenging legal assignments and attend hearings, depositions, settlement meetings and discovery conferences.  Our attorneys maintain their relationships with our summer clerks throughout their law school experience and beyond.  Our efforts to ensure diversity and inclusion are ever-evolving.  We are excited about our continued commitment to foster diversity and inclusion and look forward to implementing additional programs to further this goal.  To learn more about our firm’s continued commitment to diversity and inclusion please click Diversity here.  We invite 1Ls to submit their resumes, first semester transcripts and cover letters to us at recruiting@gamb.com.

We hire every associate with the goal that he or she will eventually become an equity member of our firm. As a result, we take the development of each associate very seriously.  Our associates are impressive individuals with varying paths to law school and then to us. Some were our summer clerks, while others came to us after a year (or a few) of legal experience, either from judicial clerkships or other law firms.  In order to further the success of our associates, we host a structured associate program, by assigning active mentors and engaging in routine “check-ins” in the form of lunches, office visits and happy hours.

Our general expectation is that an associate will be considered for membership in his or her seventh or eighth year with the firm.  Credit is often given for judicial clerkships, and individual experience is always considered. As with many aspects of the firm, we do not have rigid expectations but strongly encourage our associates to participate in legal and civic organizations, speak at seminars and publish articles.  In the end, our objective is to sufficiently prepare our associates to transition into well-rounded, contributing members of our firm.

We invite associates with an interest in joining our firm to submit their resumes, law school transcripts and a cover letter to us at recruiting@gamb.com.

We continue to grow various practice areas and are always interested in accommodating new, talented lawyers. While many of our members began as our summer law clerks, we also have a large contingency of members who joined us later in their careers and have made our firm a successful home.  We encourage innovative thinking while offering steady support; as a result, we target laterals looking to grow their practices.  In short, we are always looking for qualified attorneys at various levels of experiences.  For any inquiries regarding potential openings, please email us at recruiting@gamb.com.

We have a full support staff, including legal assistants, paralegals, accountants and other record-keeping professionals.  We strive to ensure a working environment that encourages all personnel to advance within our firm and provide reciprocal feedback regarding opportunities to improve.  We are an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, age, national origin, handicap, veteran or family status or any other status or condition protected by applicable state or federal laws.  Please send all employment inquiries including a resume and cover letter to us at apply@gamb.com.
