Caroline Lafourcade Elected as Chair of the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization Tax Law Commission

Gordon Arata congratulates Member Caroline Lafourcade for her recent appointment as Chair of the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization Tax Law Commission. Caroline will lead a group of eight other members on the Commission and will serve a one-year term ending in 2024.

The Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization (LBLS) is part of the Louisiana State Bar Association and “is charged with regulating and administering all matters pertaining to specialization in the practice of law and regulating the certification of lawyers as specialists.” Tax law is one of nine specialization areas certified by the LBLS with only 132 Board Certified Tax Specialists across the state of Louisiana.

Caroline has over 25 years of experience advising individuals and businesses regarding federal taxation and Louisiana state and local taxes. Her expertise includes the resolution of federal tax controversies at all stages of examination, administrative appeals, and litigation with the IRS. Additionally, Caroline assists clients with business formation and planning, estate planning, and succession. She has been selected to The Best Lawyers in America list for Litigation – Trusts and Estates, Litigation and Controversy – Tax, Tax Law, and Trusts and Estates, as well as Best Lawyers since 2010.
