Gordon Arata congratulates Associate Jess Waltman, who has been appointed to the Board of Governors for the Human Rights Campaign (HRC). As a member of the HRC Board of Governors, Jess will help manage the organization’s nationwide outreach and maintain relationships with members and local Mississippi communities. Members of the Board of Governors also serve as liaisons between their local communities and HRC’s national office. Jess will serve a two-year term.

HRC strives to “ensure that all LGBTQ+ people, and particularly those of us who are trans, people of color and HIV+, are treated as full and equal citizens within our movement, across our country, and around the world.” For more than forty years, the organization has been leading the fight for equality through educational resources and grassroots initiatives among other activities. The organization offers a variety of programs through its charitable arm, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.

Jess joined the firm in 2023 and represents clients in banking, construction, energy, and other litigation matters. He is licensed to practice in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Arizona. In addition to HRC, Jess is deeply involved with other organizations and has served in multiple roles with the Young Lawyers Division of the Mississippi Bar, the Mississippi Association for Justice, and the American Cancer Society.
