Gordon Arata Expands Energy Practice with Addition of Meaghan M. Anderson to Team

Gordon Arata Welcomes Meaghan Anderson

Gordon Arata welcomes Meaghan M. Anderson as a member attorney in the Lafayette, Louisiana office.  Anderson joins the firm’s robust team of energy transactional and litigation attorneys across its offices in Louisiana and Texas.

“I’ve worked in-house in the energy industry for over a decade, and Gordon Arata has always stood out as a distinguished firm and leader in the sector,” says Anderson. “Once I met the spectacular team of professionals, it solidified my decision to join the firm.”

As a former Gulf of Mexico Land Representative at Chevron and General Counsel and Land Manager at Cantium, Anderson has considerable experience working with Federal, State, and local governmental agencies, landowners, contractors, and other partners in complex transactions. She has worked on an array of agreements and deals, including drafting, negotiating, and approving leases, acquisitions, joint operating agreements, participation agreements, unit agreements, production handling agreements, farmout/farm-in agreements, production sharing agreements, rights-of-way, surface use agreements, and other exploration and production upstream contracts and provisions.

Additionally, Anderson has worked on litigation matters involving purchase and sale agreements, oil field liability claims, and general business litigation.

“We were impressed with Meaghan’s experience working in-house at global and independent oil and gas companies,” says Sam Masur, member of the Management Committee at Gordon Arata. “She brings an expertise that enhances our services and experience for our energy clients.”

Anderson’s hire marks the continued growth of Gordon Arata’s energy and natural resources practice. The firm recently announced Anthony C. “Tony” Marino and Jefferson B. “Jeff” Goldman joined the firm, both whom have considerable litigation and transactional experience within the energy sector.
