Gordon Arata congratulates Associate Kate Clark on being named to the Women’s Energy Network South Louisiana Chapter (WENSLA) 2024 Board of Directors. Kate will serve as Community Initiatives & Scholarship Director for the chapter, which provides scholarships to undergraduate or graduate students who are pursuing a career in the energy industry.
Kate joins fellow Gordon Arata Associate Marianna Knister Downer, who has served on the WENSLA Board of Directors since 2022 as Public & Industry Relations Director and will assume the role of Communications Director in 2024. Both Kate and Marianna were confirmed at the chapter’s annual meeting on December 7.
The Women’s Energy Network is a global organization of professionals who work in all sectors of the energy industry and whose mission is to “provide networking opportunities and foster the career and leadership development of women who work in the energy industries.” The South Louisiana chapter was founded in 2009.
Kate has been practicing law for 10 years and is licensed in Louisiana, Alabama, and North Carolina. Her practice includes commercial transactions and chapter 7 and chapter 11 bankruptcy matters. Before joining Gordon Arata, Kate clerked for the Honorable Meredith S. Grabill in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana and the Honorable Callie V.S. Granade in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Alabama. She also served as an Administrative Attorney at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit for five years.
