Gordon Arata commends Member Paul B. Simon for his appointment to the LSU Mineral Law Institute Advisory Council. Paul joins a group of 35 legal professionals in the energy sector from Louisiana and other energy-producing states. With two other new members named this year, Paul will serve a three-year term.
Formed in 1953, the goal of the Institute is “to promote an understanding of the mineral law of Louisiana and neighboring states and to facilitate the development of the law through educational activities.” The Advisory Council supports the Institute with developing programming for its educational events and annual conference.
Paul joined Gordon Arata over 10 years ago and manages disputes, corporate matters, acquisitions, and appeals for Gordon Arata’s energy clients. He regularly assists clients with issues arising under Louisiana’s Mineral Code and the industry’s primary agreements, as well as regulatory issues before federal and state regulatory authorities. Paul has been included in The Best Lawyers in America, Louisiana Super Lawyers, and Acadiana Profile magazine’s Top Lawyers list.
