Scott O'Connor Elected to PLANO Board of Directors

Gordon Arata is excited to announce that Member Scott O’Connor has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the Professional Landmen’s Association of New Orleans (PLANO). Scott continues the firm’s deep involvement in PLANO where attorneys have a history of serving in leadership positions, as well as being recognized year-over-year at the organization’s annual awards.

PLANO was founded in 1953 with the goal of furthering both the science and art behind the careers of Petroleum Landmen. PLANO strives to provide its members with opportunities for ongoing industry education and commercial and social networking and to stay informed on the latest legislative and legal developments that may affect the Gulf Coast oil and gas Industry.  PLANO also actively supports local charities and awards annual scholarships to university students pursuing degrees in industry-related disciplines.

Practicing for nearly 35 years, Scott has been with Gordon Arata since 1990 and currently serves as the Chair of the Oil & Gas Section. He has worked with oil and gas and energy clients on a variety of matters involving commercial litigation, transactions, class actions, and environmental and toxic torts. Scott is ranked by Chambers USA in the area of Energy & Natural Resources: Oil & Gas and has been listed as a Super Lawyer and The Best Lawyers in America for Energy Law, Natural Resources Law, and Oil and Gas Law.  He previously served as a PLANO Director from 2002-2005.
